What is keyword rank tracking?

SEO specialists need to keep track of their SERP (search engine results page) rankings to make sure their optimization efforts are paying off. The first five search results get a lion’s share of clicks, so SEO specialists often aim for the top-5. With proper optimization, positions of the site’s target keyword will gradually improve.

How do you set up rank tracking?

To track keywords, (specifically the keywords your website ranks for), you must first add your project to the SE Ranking platform. Specify the website you want to monitor, choose your desired search engines and location, and then add both your keywords and competitors. Once you do that, the tool will immediately start collecting ranking data and present you with daily updates on positions.

How to track featured snippets?

SE Ranking’s Rank Tracker monitors featured snippets on top of keyword rankings. To track them, go to your project and look at the keyword table in the Detailed report tab. It includes a special column with SERP features for which added keywords are displayed in search results. Use filters to find keywords that have featured snippets. If the featured snippet icon is highlighted in blue, this means your website was able to win it over.

How to track my competitors’ rankings?

SE Ranking allows you to track anywhere from 5 to 20 competitors. After adding them, you can track how well they are ranking for your target keywords. To check their positions, go to the Added Competitors section and review the Overall and Detailed tabs. The first report shows ranking data categorized by the search engine. The second report presents detailed keyword rankings for each competitor separately.
